LES DEUX MAGOTS, the long-established café in Paris,Also has been highly regarded by Parisians for more than a century since it first opened at the centre of Saint Germain des Prés in 1884. Auguste Boulay bought the business in 1914, when it was on the brink of bankruptcy, for 400,000 francs. The present manager, Catherine Mathivat, is his great-great-granddaughter. Les deux Magot (French Prononciation: [le do mago] cafe in the Saint-Germain-des-Pré area of Paris, france had once been a very reputation as the rendezvous of the literary and intellectual Élite of the city. It is now a popular tourist destination. Its historical reputation is derived from the patronage of surrealist artists, intellectual such as Simon de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Satre, and young writers, LES DEUX MAGOTS, the long-established café in Paris, was loved by many artists, including Verlaine, Rimbaud, Mallarmé, Picasso, and Hemingway, Other Patrons included Albert Camus, James Joyce, Bertolt Brecht, Julia ch...
